First Grade Team

Tanya Campbell-Thomas, First Grade Co-Teacher

Mrs. Campbell-Thomas received her B.A. in Sociology and her M.S. in Education from The College of New Rochelle. She has her certifications to teach Grades 1-6 in General Education and Special Education from New York. Mrs. Campbell-Thomas is approaching her fourth year of teaching and first year at Harlem Link. She enjoys traveling and cooking.

Tiffany Crawford, First Grade Co-Teacher

Ms. Crawford attended Hunter College for the majority of her undergraduate studies and received her B.S. in Psychology from Mercy College. She was nominated for the Dean’s List at both institutions and graduated with Honors. Ms. Crawford is currently pursuing her Master’s in Education from Hunter College and has her certification to teach Students with Disabilities Grades 1-6. She is approaching her third year teaching and first year as a teacher at Harlem Link. She is learning to garden and has traveled to every continent in the world!

Sandy Leon-Hoitsma, First Grade Co-Teacher

Mrs. Hoitsma received her Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education (birth to grade 2) from Grand Canyon University and is presently enrolled in the Master’s degree program for Curriculum Instruction. She has over seven years teaching experience and is starting her second year teaching here at Harlem Link. She enjoys reading and always remind her scholars that “reading is just as important as food is to our bodies.”

Nikita Ramoo, First Grade Co-Teacher

Ms. Ramoo received her B.A. in Family and Child Studies with a concentration in Elementary Education and her M.A. in Inclusive Education both from Montclair State University in New Jersey. She is also certified to work with Students with Disabilities. This is her second year teaching at Harlem Link, and she taught for five years prior to coming to Harlem Link. She enjoys staying active and trying out different exercise classes. She also loves to read and spending time with friends and family!

Bridget Shouvlin, First Grade Co-Teacher

Miss Shouvlin received her B.A. in Sociology from Gettysburg College, and her Masters in Elementary Education from Lesley University. She has her certification to teach Grades 1-6 in Massachusetts. This is her fourth year teaching and her second year at Harlem Link. She loves reading, traveling and spending time with her friends and family!

Danielle Wald, First Grade Co-Teacher

Ms. Wald received her B.A. in America Studies from Muhlenberg College and her M.A in Elementary Education from Teachers College, Columbia University. She has her certification to teach Grades K-5 from New York. This is her 6th year teaching, and second year at Harlem Link. She enjoys spending time outside, and loves running, biking and spending time with friends and family. She is excited to be a part of the Harlem Link community!
