Erika Cortes, Visual Arts Teacher, AIS Teacher, ELL Coordinator

Mrs. Cortes received her B.A. in Childhood Education, and Social Studies from CUNY Hunter College, and her M.S. Ed in Early Childhood Education from Hunter as well. She has her certification to teach K-6 from New York. This is her eleventh year teaching, and fourth year at Harlem Link. She enjoys traveling and reading and encourages our scholars to become “critical thinkers” through literature immersion and class discussions.

Matthew Greene, Physical Education Teacher

Mr. Greene earned his B.A. in Health Movement Science from Lynchburg College, located in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia, and his M.A. in Health and Physical Education at S.U.N.Y. Stony Brook on Long Island. He has certification to teach Kindergarten through 12th grade in both Health and Physical Education. This is his tenth year teaching, and his fifth year at Harlem Link. He enjoys kayaking, mountain biking, and traveling.

Jennifer Holliman, Grades Pre-K to 3 Science Teacher

Ms. Jennifer earned her B.S. at NYU in International Studies and her M.A. in Museum Education from Bank Street College of Education. She has her dual certification to teach birth through sixth grade in New York. This is her twenty-second year teaching and her ninth year at Harlem Link Charter School. She has just gotten very serious about running and will be training for her first NYC Marathon soon! Most of her free time is spent with her two wonderful children enjoying NYC.

Dorothy Smith, Music Teacher

Ms. Smith earned her Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance from West Virginia University, her Master of Music from James Madison University in Vocal Performance, and is currently completing her certification and Master of Education degree in Music and Music Education at Teachers College, Columbia University. This is her third year teaching, and her first with Harlem Link. She is excited to make music with the students of Harlem Link. She enjoys singing, running, and spending time with family and friends.
